So, today I tried . . .
Turkish coffee. According to a Dr. Oz show, Turkish (Greek) coffee gives you more health benefits than normal coffee. Soooooo, I just started drinking coffee a few years ago for my brain, and I still like a little flavored coffee in my milk and sugar. Just the idea of Turkish coffee gagged me. I went out yesterday and bought a Turkish coffee pot (cezve/ibrik) and some espresso grind coffee (real Turkish grind is even finer, if you can find it.) This morning, I tried my hand at it and added Truvia during the second boiling. I poured the result into my tiny Chinese tea cup and drank. I LOVED IT. What a surprise. I made enough for two tiny servings and found that my need for morning coffee was very satisfied. Who knew?!!!
I'm off to work in my garden. I bought a bunch of replacement herbs for the ones that didn't make it over the winter and a few new ones that looked interesting, like strawberry mint (it really does smell like strawberries!) I also have bunches of perennial seeds for flowers and herbs. I haven't planted anything new yet. We just had another freeze Friday night. What the hey?! The last few years, the weather has been SO ODD!
Have a great day my FS buddies!
I am thankful for:the great nursery nearby that sells an amazing variety of plants.
coffee, nectar of the gods, no matter how you prepare it.
Velcro, who hasn't pinned down my hands yet this morning.
Emma, who refrained from jumping on me until I was actually awake.
the beautiful, warm temperatures that are due today. Yay!!!
