I feel like I am always starting over... and every time the road is harder and longer. I've done WW and Medical weight loss... I've even done HMR and the calorie counting and tracking and all the gimmics and what have you. I know what I need to do, but yet I just don't. it's like this mental block or pattern of self sabotage. I want to get healthy.. I want to lose weight.. but I can't make a good decision to save my life. I love working out... I'm strong... I've faced other challenges in my life like a freaking bulldozer. I beat cancer... I placed a child for adoption... I raised a special needs child and had to send her out of state to get the help she needs to love her best life... but saying no when my brain is like.. you want a big Mac.. nope. what's wrong with me... why is this something I can't be successful in.

First of all there is absolutely nothing wrong with you! You have been through quite a bit in your life, and you have been there for everybody around you. Just understand by making this move, you are helping yourself become a better person. There’s nothing easy about this, But you can do it. I’m sure I’m not only speaking for myself here, but we’re all struggling through the thing called life. I am new here, but from what I’ve been reading, this is the place to get all the support you could possibly need. Best of luck to you,You could do this. Do it for you!

I understand the feeling of always starting over with weight loss. I never know if it's best to just give into a craving (like a Big Mac) and get it over with or to resist. I just know FS is a great place for support. Maybe just take it one day at a time. Good luck with this!

Thank you all. :) just needed to brain dump and own it. Voice the frustration... I joined one of the accountability challenges and that is helping at least get me logging my food. Headed to Jazzercise tonight to get activity in.

Been there, done that, so many times!! I recently had a break through, though, which I will share. I was discussing my inability to get all the weight of worth my therapist and she asked me, "How does keeping the weight serve you?" Pd course I said it doesn't. She responded that it must be serving some purpose or you'd let it go. I thought about that for a bit and it hit me! I feel I'm really going to be successful this time as a result. So, ask yourself what change you fear would occur if you weren't carrying the extra weight?

Maybe if you didn't think of a Big Mac as wrong- you'd know how to eat it and enjoy every bite. Even with a medium order of fries it's 1080 calories. Certainly you are eating more than that in a day so unsure why a Big Mac has to be so taboo. If you aren't able to follow a way of eating for life- then you are only as good as you can be until your next binge. Eat what you love in moderation. Now if you are going to eat 3 big macs in a day and that occurred often- there would be a problem. Otherwise enjoy eating what you love. Track your calories and burn more than you consume.

Immediately when people want to "diet" they take drastic cuts- no bread, no pasta, no refined sugars, only water and black coffee, no food after 6 p.m. How long is that sustainable? As a girl who has done jenny craig, weight watchers, slimfast, medifast, pills, nutrisystem, healthywage, body for life, (the list is endless)- NOTHING has been easier than eating what I love in moderation and moving more. NOTHING.

I agree with all that everyone has said here. It's a bit tougher for some than others, why, I am not sure. I do know that you have to figure out what works for you and not think that if you follow someone else to the tee that you'll be successful. Don't get me wrong, there's more than enough inspiration, information, examples and advice to glean and apply so that you do succeed, but you also have to collect and combine all of it so that it's useful for you personally. For example, if you already have the tendency to beat yourself up over eating off your WOE, then getting tough with yourself isn't going to motivate you. At every step you may have to adjust something or all things, it just depends on where you are in different aspects of your life. And the only one that can make those determinations or decisions is of course you, because you're the only one who knows what's really going on within you that is keeping you from succeeding. Take one step at a time, until you master it and you'll soon gain the confidence to continue forward with ease. Focus on your successes no matter how small they are and you'll get into the habit of feeling good about all that you've accomplished. 👍💕

You’re strong as heck💪💪♥️♥️♥️!! You have gone through a lot! Have you had counseling at all? I learned a part of weight loss is to unload my worries on my journal for myself instead of acting strong. Just because what you have tried didn’t work, you may have for real not been ready, ready. You can so do this 💯🙌🙌 💜💚!!

I 'handled' & 'managed' other things in my life that would have destroyed many people..but food was (is?) some sort of coping mechanism, reward, punishment, tool - something. The need to feel full inside - instead of empty. The need to not file like ... like I'm nothing. I understand it. I don't have the magical answer. Just know I understand.
