💕 my hubby bought calamari last night and attempted to lightly fry them.... the house smelled like heavy oil I was so nauseated 🤢 some came out good but I said” honey, leave the rest raw and I will do up something using them and mussels “🤦🏻‍♀️😂😂😂😂

MMM Moon, I actually have never had octopus, so no comment. I was introduced to calamari when I was in Italy back in 1972. No idea what it was then but it was sold on the street from carts. It was so yummy.  

Ohh do you have a recipe for this?? I’ve been looking for good squid/octopus recipes ever since I’ve tried them! 

Octopus gets less rubber like, if done right. That’s what was weird about the calamari. Not rubber like at all, but the oil and smell. Had to open the windows. I will probably cook the rest of it Wednesday night for dinner when I’m off work😊

LOL jcmama, Koreans broil and eat dried squids as snack usually served with drinks and they stink so much. My husband can’t stand it saying I’m contaminating the whole house. 🤣 

I love the smell of seafood, but the smell of the oil....🤢 I was done😂😂😂  

It was bad😂😂😂 the oil popped all over the place. He had to bring the pot outside. We went through a roll of paper towels and had to throw away our kitchen mat🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️😂😂😂 if that gives any insight to our ordeal last night😂😂🤣🤣🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ my favorite rooster mat..... RIP Taps playing in the background. 

Octopus--really hard to get here in the heartland. Squid freezes pretty well ao I know I can get some decent ones from a restaurant supply store.  

wholefoodnut, I know.. I lived in the Rocky Mountain region and haven’t had nor seen any fresh octopus for long.
