I am very sad but very relieved at the same time. It looks like a Lab Rescue Group will take the puppy. I should find out for sure tomorrow. I'll just have to trust that they will find the perfect home for him.
The SD situation is also going better. I called and talked to her yesterday and think we are on the same page. DH is just too emotional on this subject (long story) so maybe it is best to bypass him when dealing with her.
And my last bit of good news is that I had an excellent talk with my doctor this morning - about cholesterol, weight loss, etc. I have a lot of work to do but it is great to know he is willing to work with me.
Please accept my apologies for not responding to you all. I really appreciate your encouragement. So now let me go record my food for the day - while I still remember why I'm on here.

Haha, you guys are funny. Fingers crossed on the SD situation that it will swing by you like one of those inclement weather situations the forecasters just get wrong. Good news about the doctor. Having someone to work WITH you makes all the differences. Sad, but happy, about the puppy.

Oh Buffy I know just how you feel...it was hard to give up Oreo..but they found him a great home..with lots of loving..and I am sure the rescue people will find a good home for your puppy...he may get a job

That's how I got my mixed lab - only it was my SD that left him tied up outside. I took him and told them if they couldn't take care of an animal properly, they had no business having one. Of course, at the time, DW wasn't real fond of the idea, but I can be pretty persuasive sometimes. :) I'm sure one of those rescue groups will provide him a real good home. I think some dog owners ought to be chained up on a leash outside overnight in freezing temps to see how they like it - not that I have an opinion about that sort of thing. Leave the booze alone - unless it's to celebrate the doggie getting a good home. Have a great day!

That's great news on all fronts, Buffy! My Collie guy came to us from a breed rescue and, after that experience, I'm 100% sold on getting an animal that way. They're SO careful about who adopts their babies, big and small, because they've had to handle what bad owners can do. They've also invested lots of time, money, training, and other scarce resources on these dogs, so they want to be sure all that work is not lost. I'm sure that sweetie will get an awesome home! And, if the adopted owners' circumstances change along the way, most breed rescues contractually require that the dog be returned to them rather than being dropped off at a shelter, or worse. And....great work on making that overture to your SD!

Hi Buffy, looks like you are even busier than me. Glad things are better with your SD situation. I can relate with my SS sometimes. Nice that you found a place for the puppy. Someone loving will give him a great home you will see.
