I have not experienced this but I have thrown my back out in the past. I know the pain you are in and for that you have my sympathies. The biggest help for me was to work on strengthening my core. The stronger my core the less back pain I seem to have to deal with. Maybe you already know that but either way good luck!! Hope you are up moving again soon.

Yes! I’ve had a few weird pinched nerve issues. I recently read a couple of things about nerve entrapment with large weight loss. I don’t know if that’s what it is or just getting older, but I don’t like it! Hope your back feels better soon!

I have always suffered back pain too, since I was 10-12 yrs old....I thought it was because I was obese but I’m not obese anymore and my back still is in pain 🙃

If you are not already doing some type of abdominal core strengthening exercise I might suggest you start. It is your core that gives support to your back.

yes, and that long apron (skin left on your belly after the fat moves out) can cause repeat hernias. I go to the Insta slim site and order a spandex garment (yes they have a link to the women's site) Their garments are 28% spandex (you can only get 9 - 15% elsewhere), so be prepared to sweat a little, but the relief of having that excess skin supported is wonderful. and might I add you LOOK much better too!

How do you sleep, on your back or stomach? This places more pain in that area. Try sleeping on your side. A long pillow placed on your side for support also helps & keeps you from rolling on your back.

if your mattress is more than ten years old, seriously consider getting a new one. or take a good look to see if there are peaks and valleys in it. you have been putting more weight on it and things have changed with your body. I thought I was beginning to get hip/back issues from being obese about 15 years ago (and I wasn't that heavy at that point). the weight didn't help, but it was my mattress (which was a hand me down at that point) was completely worn out. and despite what the mattress salespeople will tell you, you don't need to spend a couple grand to get a good mattress. get one with a 90 day trial and see if it changes things for you.

Try simple yoga moves or Tai Chi...that did amazing things to ease my back pain (2 compressed and herniated disc in lumbar region) Also, there is a class available on PBS called "Sit and Be Fit". It is for those of us with bad backs and have done little exercise - helpful.

KickingKarbs, I dont work out because it hurts me too. You may need to just make some eating adjustments. It all depends on your health, are you diabetic? The frequency you eat on. Do you only eat for 8 hours a day? There is alot of ways to keep loosing weight while you are recuperating

I never thought of it that way. I wondered why my knee is hurting so much more than it did before. I had concluded that the decrease in weight was a result of me standing longer and moving more. The damage to my knee from an injury, weight, and surgery with which I did not follow through with therapy is still there. I'm just putting more pressure with the increased activity.

As for back... I injured mine many decades ago and the weight certainly didn't help but the loss didn't improve it either. I've had back pain so long that defies beds, mattresses, and Rx I just try to accept it and move on. But that's not my advice to you. I hope you find relief.

sorry to hear about your issues. But as for me, the more I lose the better I feel. I am only down 18 lbs but back ankles and especially my knees feel a relief. stay with it , I'm sure your joint pain will ease up.

If not a diagnosed back problem, try finding a chair yoga class with a knowledgeable instructor.

I haven't lost as much as you however I have lost 100 pounds before. Presently I have lost around 50 pounds. I can't say that there was any physical pain from losing. My feet didn't hurt as much and I had been exercising throughout the loss and really felt stronger and more able to do physical things. Saying that, I do not have any back issues so I am not speaking to that part at all. I am only saying that I did not experience any kind of physical pain while losing a substantial amount of weight.

You can try stretching out your muscles, get your gym trainer there to stretch you or Google stretches and hold them a little longer each time, your body will get relief.

Stretching is really good, try some yoga, I love doing DDP Yoga it's helped me with my knee issues. Also try strengthening your core. I started having my classes working on their planks and one of my ladies has lower back issues, after a couple of weeks she said the pain started going away.

I had added a comment about stretching earlier today, but it has disappeared!!
I just want to say that stretching your body well gets rid of a lot of pain, sometimes your abs and pectorals are pulling you forward and your upper back pains. stretch your body out with a trainer or watch you tube videos on how to stretch.
