So the dietician has me on 16:8 fasting & calorie cycling.
Today is a very lean day, super low calorie intake, and I am beyond exhausted.
I know calories = energy but I'm curious, has anyone on here had experience with super low calorie days and if so do you have any tips on not feeling like a soggy sack of suckass?

I've done 16/8 for over a year. I go 24+ hrs occasionally. If anything I have more energy. It's weird. Give it some time for your body to adjust. Yesterday I went 24 only had black coffee and water..

Have you been keeping your carbs that low for several days. If you drop your carbs suddenly you may be experiencing something known as the keto flu. Adjusting to using ketones. Usually people suggest upping salt to combat it. So two kinds of fasts mixed up? Sounds weird to me.

Liv yes carbs are as low as possible every day. I fully expected to be a little tired while transitioning into this but today was just a major drag

What are you eating for macros? Like liv001 mentioned, if your carbs dropped suddenly you may be feeling the effects of that. Or could be lack of electrolytes.

Gameness I feel a little stupid here, i don't know what you mean by macros. Again, total newb, trying to learn everything I can, sorry.

I think this dietician needs to explain things better... They are having you run before walking. It's not easy throwing you into several different things at the same time. Macros are about the most simple thing they can explain and teach you. Fat carbs and protein..

Macronutrients: fats, proteins, carbs. How low calorie is your dietician having you go your “low” days? Hopefully the dietician has provided you a sample meal plan.

No need to apologize. People say macros to mean macronutrients so different types of caloric nutrients. There are only three: Fat. Carbohydrates. Protein If you look at the tab at the top of reports you can see everything in terms of meals macros or nutrients. Different types of diets prioritize different macros. 1). The keto people try to eat a lot of fat. 2). The weightlifters try to eat plenty of protein. 3.) CICO people believe that (Calories In Calories Out) believe that if you eat fewer calories you’ll lose weight no matter which macros you eat. 4). Low carb dieters try to reduce the percentage of carbohydrates. Now who did I leave out?!

Caffeine is my staple on OMAD days. Keep busy. 16/8 feels tough when you start. It's more likely low carbs that's making it tough. Once your body is more reliably burning fat, it will be much simple. Hang in there.

I think I've learned more tonight than this dietician has even tried to discuss. She speaks to me like I'm a small child who refuses to eat healthy. The way it was explained to me was to eliminate all processed foods, cut carbs waaaay down, and do mostly lean meats and veggies. I wasn't given a meal plan, no specific exercise regimen, she said exactly this "just do what you've been doing, but better, and within these calorie and time frames" I've been researching on my own and learning what I can.

Almonds and green tea not sure why but the combination helps soothe and calm me if I am not eating all day

How many calories on a regular day, how many on a low calorie day?

It varies widely between 1200-700 with one 500 day per month. Today was my first 700 and i didn't have anything prepped so i had to wing it (first mistake) I ended up having a boiled egg for breakfast (typical breakfast for me) A boiled egg and steamed miso cabbage for lunch and plain roasted chicken and brussels sprouts for dinner The bonus: i had enough space under calorie budget available to have 2 oreo thins before my fast started. I feel pretty good now (almost 6 hours into fasting time) but all day i was dragging my butt around & it was a struggle

I typically keep mine below 1000 per day.

Maybe ask about carb cycling. It allows you to eat more protein which takes longer for your body to break down and make you feel more full or maybe on your low days try to get more of your calories from a rich protein source.

too low of calories is unhealthy your body need certain nutrition or it will think it's starving and hold onto it's resource(fat storage) even more.

My womans Health specialist say women should not go below 1000 per day.
