I have 35.4 lbs to go but somehow it shows more in a part of FS. Seems I'm averaging about a lb per day. I have been trying to eat salads and eggs and soups and staying away from fast foods and anything but water or green tea to drink, but the past few days have been super stressful and today I am treating myself. Will try to do better tomorrow, but it's looking like since it's the weekend I will be focusing on getting into a better diet Monday. I haven't gained and am still below the calories set for me, but I feel that I should be losing more weight unless I really should reduce my daily calories goal further. Maybe I just need to eat one meal a day. That's how I took off weight 38 years ago after giving birth. But then again, I am obviously 38 years older so maybe that's why the weight isn't coming off as quickly as I want it to. I am realizing that the healthy foods I've been eating are occasional and that by not eating healthy all the time I gained weight. Still, it isn't easy trying to reverse the weight gain, but I am determined no matter how long it takes. I really don't have the time or desire to cook or plan meals an
ahead. Much of what I do cook has to be quick. It would be so nice to have healthy meals that fill me up already prepared, but being on a budget prevents that. Let's see how it goes.

Please don't get disheartened. It took awhile to put the weight on, so it's reasonable that it will take time to come off. Our bodies often plateau during weight loss, it's our job to wait out the weight loss slow down. Change things up a bit, lose the soup and add in veggie platters or change your exercise routine from morning to evening, anything like that can ramp up the loss again. Don't expect so much from your body. A pound a day in the beginning is great but unreasonable well into your journey. At this point it's ounces. You're doing great and you can always find terrific advice, recipes and a willing ear if you need it.🙋

I like scrambled eggs for a quick lunch with some added veggies such as peppers and onions. Add some bacon or sausage patty if you like. Stir fry is something else that is fast . Stir fry the meat - chicken or beef -. Remove it, add your veggies or buy them frozen in a bag, saute them. Add the meat back in , add your seasoning or sauce, heat it all up. Done.

Fishing Widow: I love eggs and recipe sounds yummy! Never stir-fried, but I will buy a stir-fry pan and start making some delicious meals!

Alnona: Thanks much for your encouragement! I don't have an exercise plan but will start walking every night. My weight gain has been in the middle from my tummy and waist to my shoulders. I miss being smaller but determined to get back into the shape I want!

Keep in mind that a change in diet releases a lot of water retention and thus pounds. I lost about 11 lbs. in one week a couple of years back when i started making a cabbage soup to fill up on with sensible portioned and nutritious meals. Your body needs good food to maintain its health and keep it functioning to keep you free of radicals and dangers. No crazy diet is worth risking your overall health. It should not be a "diet" as such but a change of eating habits for the better. If you cut calories by your required by 300 , you will lose 1 lb. a week at a safe pace. Add some exercise and perhaps 2, even more. What is the point in a diet that you can't maintain because you are always hungry or feel weak? How active will you be then? Ideal protein intake is .5 to .9 times your weight so at 160 i need about 80 protein. This will prevent your body losing muscle which weights more than fat, so yeah maybe that accounts for some plateaus.
