Have you tried taking a Magnesium supplement? Sometimes if you are low on magnesium or potassium it can cause muscle cramps.

I was getting leg cramps at night that went away by taking a huge Magnesium tablet each morning.

When I went low carb I had horrible leg cramps. It was a deficiency in magnesium and potassium. I ate lots if green veg and mushrooms. It did not solve the issue. I now take a high dose of magnesium and potassium (and vitamin D) via supplements and an cramp free.

I have had similar problems with cramps and restless leg twitching/crawling. I agree with 2426girl that magnesium, potassium, vitamin d and calcium helped. Calcium is needed to help with the absorption of magnesium. There are a lot of places online with info about what foods contain high amounts of those minerals so you can eat what you need. B-Complex may also help. Walmart sells a fairly inexpensive liquid b-complex that works quite well. Good luck resolving your problem quickly.

thanks all, I take plenty of suppliments my issue is a bit more complicated and my bloodwork came back, I do have a problem with my adrenal glands as I suspected. don't know what the doctor will say tomarrow. I believe the issue is deeper but messed up adrenals do regulate the minerals. hense not regulating and always being dehydrated. the endo specialist is backed up until april so my doctor will have to do something.

I also recently started taking Calcium, Magnesium and Zinc along with Vitamin D3 (2000 i.u./daily) and a B-Complex vitamin. The combination was prescribed to improve chemo/radiation induced anemia...But, it seems to be helping the night-time leg cramps, also. I have been taking these vitamins for about a week now. Instead of waking up screaming, with leg cramps 4 to 5 times every stinking night, I have had three nights in a row that I have not had leg cramps. I still have to get up and go pee, but at least the leg cramps are subsiding. Good luck Baskington. Hope you find a solution soon.

Have you had an EMG? I call it the electrocution, needle stab test. Really not as bad as it sounds. It can rule out or provide further input for your cramping. Are you having any spasticity as well?

Erquiaga,my cramping is gone, I tested a few things on my carb test and when I add salt the cramps stopped. I was shocked that on carbs and no salt I got cramps, but it clarified for me that I have some issue internally causing the inbalance. adding salt took care of that cramping.
