That is a good question. I think the answer is which ever one you think you can do. They both work if you stick with it.
I lowcarb. And if decide to go that route you should drop your carbs to only 20 and follow keto. Just lower carbs will not really do

Any thoughts on which is better? Would like to here what others think.

Depends on what works for you. I calorie count and eat, basically, a Mediterranean diet.

It's all about what you can do long term. Your way of eating (WOE) must change for life.

No matter what diet you do, calories count

eat as few carbs as possible and as much protein and animal fat as possible.

At your current weight I would be more concerned about building muscle. Being underweight is just as dangerous as being overweight.

That is a good point about where you are now. Keto is very good if you have a lot of fat to lose but if you do not then you may have to think differently.

Carbs cause fluid retention so you'll loose fast water weight when you cut those but still keep calories in check! Also carbs cause higher spikes in insulin and in the presence of insulin, fat CANNOT be burned! Try using intermittent fasting along with your diet!

Building muscle is very important as it is more efficient in maintaining a proper metabolism. I agree with trying intermittent fasting. Be healthy!

You're 99lbs?
How tall are you?
And why do you want to lose *more* weight (I'm just getting an idea of your goals)?
If you're not 3.5ft tall or shorter, I'd seriously consider what @Erquiaga said.

Agree with keilin. Calories are most important. Pandas are vegans. Lol

Just a note about the weight goal: a 5-foot woman with a small frame can comfortably be a healthy 95 pounds.

Abbadabba is right. People think that if you weigh less than 110lbs you already have an eating disorder 🙄

I think it is a great question and each has it’s own benefits - for myself I have always believed calories are what matters most for weight loss - ultimately a deficit in what you put in vs. what your body needs to survive will invoke your body to lose weight. That said depending on your age, weight, and body type there are very good benefits to reducing carbs - for me reducing carbs is a goal to help lower blood sugars which in turn I believe helps my body not only work better but feel better - ultimately you have to do what works best for your body.

Abbadabba and Keilin, I agree. Do you know LThomp56 specifics? If so: Échame la Culpa.

keeping your macro's in line for me. not too much protein higher fat, too much protein can slow me down to actually gain weight on lower carlories

thanks everyone for the comments . The only difference for this specific day was an extra 30 calories which brought carbs lower. I'm 4'8" so at 99 it's not too low. I've gained a few and trying to get back to my goal weight of 95 . I reduced my RDI to 1200 because I can't lose on 1400 a day. I usually keep my calories around 700 or lower during the week but adding a little extra lately to see if I can get back to losing.
