okay while I got up early this morning I really felt well. I fell asleep early on and naturally it was hard to stay in bed this morning. bit thing was my legs felt good. I rehydrated and did not need the coffee to deaden the nerves. this is what I think the coffee does. My ketones were pretty high this morning as I did not get my night snack so I had a big breakfast around 6am. normally I have something light and then not eat for the majority of the day. I took my new suppliments and those seem to effect me with being tired. The new magnesium makes me tired as the other one. I will have to take the suppliments at night instead of with a meal in the morning. But it is great I am getting relief with the leg tightening and cramps. Ended up having coffee to keep me awake. tomarrow new plan no coffee!

Having almost 50 grams of protein this morning and around 500 calories bounced my ketones and glucose up big time. big difference between the light breakfast of half that calorie load and less protein. I decided to test what it would take to bring them back down. So I did like Adef does some cardio in the morning. 2 hours after exercise my levels dropped dower then my morning reading on the glucose and almost to the same ketone level. . so morning will be lighter to take advantage of the all day effect of burning calories. I just have to have that snack at night to keep me comfortable.


fasting 2.9 k, glucose 4.6, 4 hours after big breakfast dropped me 1.9 k and raised 5.2 glucose. 6 hours after breakfast and 2 hours after exercise 2.7 k and 4.1 glucose. lat reading of the day, it dropped a lot 3.4 ketone and 3.4 glucose feel a little shaky but waiting until my husband gets home to eat.

thanks Kikibee5 and Jengetfit I am quite happy with this turn of events. I have to adjust things so I don't have these slow downs with being sleepy but that is totally doable.

Looking good! Tomorrow I will do my morning run. I am not lifting tomorrow so I plan to do 7 miles. When I get home, I expect my blood glucose will be through the floor :)

does it drop that fast for you after carbing up?? it will be interesting to see your numbers. do you get a fasting level first thing in the morning too before and after exercise?? I don't tend to feel my best when my ketones go up in the 3+ range, I don't know if it is because my fat is being released into my system and the toxins are flooding my system or if it is something else. over time I hope to figure this out.

I have problems with brain fog from the coffee but the 5 hour takes care of the wake up in the morning 371 to 184

@baskington - I'm 108 now and plan to go to the gym tonight and plan to only consume two protein shakes before bed (one before the gym and one before bed). I expect to wake up in the low 90's. If I only have a 5 Hour Energy drink and go for a 7 mile run in the morning I expect to hit the 70s. However, even without eating I expect it will jump back up to the high 80s during the day. Because I am not a Type 1 diabetic, my body has no problem bringing my blood glucose back to 'normal' :) But, If I eat nothing for a long time, and then go for a 7 mile run (at a 10 minute a mile pace), my body will-not-be-able-to-keep-up my glucose levels during the run... However, if I am STILL dealing with the Wednesday night feast on Friday morning my theory is 'out the window' Haha

okay it is a good test to see how fast it drops. I am trying to figure this out as well so I can better plan for having enough energy to work but lose fat too. I think I do have a problem with my thyroid which is kind of messing me up with the morning fasting like I used to do. I like going hours without eating during the day. so lite breakfast to keep from getting too low

My knees started hurting with my last child. On and off they would hurt. I am not sure if this is a health condition. But it seems as if exercise causes the pain.

then find exercises that don't aggravate your knees Jackaline, exercise is not supposed to cause bone deep pain. running and high level cardio routines which need you bouncing around is probably a bad idea. gentle walking riding a stationary bike or resistance exercises might work.

Glad you felt good even if you got up early - that is most important! And awesome news about your legs being better - I can only imagine how great that feels for you!!

yes it is awesome that I found the problem and it is only a matter of adjusting my supplement schedule to avoid getting so sleepy during the day Nikeit.

We just have to keep tuned in to our body's signals -- mine today says I should have eaten a better dinner. Glucose was 109 when I came home from work and I am flat out tired. Had a 2 hr Board meeting after work. Ate a fat bomb, drank green tea, ate a piece of cheese when I came home and I can feel myself livening up some.

@Texasgranny6 - We are on the same schedule. Same glucose reading, same food, but I didn't have any cheese... I guess I didn't get the memo :)

5 hour does just fine Keilin but yes I miss having coffee which is why I keep cheating and having it!

yes balance is important Texasgranny, you may need to take a nice healthy snack with you when you have those longer hours
