I slept well last night, good one for me. I put off eating for a while but even though I was not really hungry I ate and really overate for my appetite. I have been pretty sleepy and easygoing all day. I have been monitering my ketones and glucose. I don't understand having low glucose at fasting, everything I read shows I should be higher. I have had two readings a couple times. I am having more trouble getting the blood to go down all the way in the tester though that could just be me not being able to see it move as well as the ketone one. that is bright.

fasting glucose tends to be in the 3.4 to 4.3 range. This morning ketone was 1.2. I will monitor this. I am still learning to do this.

one hour after eating lower fat and a lot of steak my ketone was 1.0 and glucose 4.6. 3 hours after 1.3 and 4.5, 6 hours after 1.1 and 4.9 at nine hours my ketones raised to 1.9 and my glucose is dropping to 3.7. If I understand this correctly when I use up my energy the body will dump some fat into my system to burn for fuel. I don't know if I burned all those calories at 6 hours after breakfast. I did not have anything to eat in those readings. I just had coffee with a little cream and if I remember I will take another reading unfed at 9 hours. I am not exercising today to get a general idea of what is going on. Felt much better though this morning. I had a late night snack of steak before bedtime which I think helped to fuel my sleeping more.

no Chris I meant fasting reading from overnight before breakfast. sorry to not be clear I work all morning so it is not like I am resting all day. I have over 2000 gallons of fish tanks to maintain. It is boring but keeps me active.

Glad you got a good nights sleep :) What your readings seem to me, is that you are 'normal' :) I like this chart: https://bit.ly/2DO78wz Basically 4-6 and you're good :) When I eat carbs I get into the "Consult Your Doctor" range and-stay-there...

I am learning Adef I read a lot today and it is confusing as I don't tend to have readings like they are saying for fat loss or even normal for the studies they did. I have tried to research low glucose in the dawn effect time and there is no info on that. now 9 hours after eating and only 1 coffee, my ketones is up which is normal for not eating, but my glucose again is dropping, which may be normal in the afternoon, but confused on the morning lows I have gotten this week on and off. By the records I should be higher in the morning dawn effect and stable all day. Just learning about me I guess. I had much lower fat today and will be striving to eat less fat and more protein to fuel fat burning.

ah I got it but it says I am dangerously low. for my morning low level. this is what I don't understand. maybe this has been my problem with my leg cramps and not sleeping well. and feeling dehydrated

you know those funny eye things I complained about?? I think I get hypogycymic when I go too many hours without food or go too low on food. This is something that may be the key to what symptoms I have been having for years. The doctor has done a ton of testing me the past two months and did not find anything. I have probably been well fed the nights before my fasting bloodwork. This is very interesting.
