Why is it that dog show weekends are the worst for my diet? I know why: I have to get up at the crack o' dawn and get dogs ready to show. My only concern is to make sure I'm awake enough to do it. With Newf hair in my coffee, I spritz, blow dry and trim. I often don't have time to eat, so I don't until the dog is done, which often comes right before ring time. That amount of time could be just five minutes or an hour. Then, I might have time to eat a quick bite before that dog has to go in the ring again.

By that time, it's getting into late morning or noon and I am famished. I eat anything I can get my hands on. Dog show food isn't much better than driving through a fast-food restaurant. Even if it is, the trip to and from the dog show is often accomplished by hours sitting in the driver's seat. Bleh.
