Yesterday was TERRIBLE! I had 4 stupid slices of pizza. 4!!! I ended up having an anxiety attack because of it. Today isn't that much better with going to Carl's Jr with the hubby for lunch. I got a chicken sandwich. fries, and unsweetened ice tea and put two small packets of fake sugar in it as well as lemon. I'm not doing too well with this stuff. I just feel like I did so well for the first 3-4 months and then things went south. It's super frustrating for me because my depression and anxiety are worse now and I feel even more like a failure. UGH!

trying to lose weight with anxeity is killer. im there too. keep focused i guess and think of losing weight as something that is better for your health and it might actually curb your anxiety. ive found that every time i lost weight my anxiety virtually disappeared. i could go for a slice of pizza right now!! :-)

So...I’m really trying to minimize carbs and when I have to eat them like pizza or chips :)I take white kidney bean extract supplements. They are supposed to interfere with the starch sugar conversion. I believe that it works!! Doesn’t do anything for a can of Pepsi, but breads and dough it’s great. No decernable side effects for me. Might help.....

That’s how it is, in the beginning is easy and than only the ones that comprehend is not about motivation but following trough is what’s gonna make you succeed

Fpoll: Emotional eating because of anxiety is definitely a killer. I think to refocus when I have a slip and try to think about the goal to be healthy. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Ramblemanje: I've already minimized carbs like crazy. The pizza I had last night was the first in a month or so. I dont eat it, like I used to that is for sure. I've never heard of kidney dean extract supplements. I take cinnamon supplements which helped to break down carbs and metabolize them easier. Rosio19: I don't believe I know what "flexible" dieting is... Srossca: I only have me, myself, and I to blame. My hubby is an enabler though. He's just not understanding that his 6'1", slender has hell frame with a fast metabolism can burn off the calories faster than me. My metabolism is slightly higher than average but I still have to work at it more than he does. Tiffany1908: I have not. Is that something a doctor would have be prescribe?

Take a deep breath. When you feel your anxiety increasing take a moment to find 10 items of one color (you pick the color) within your physical space. If that doesn't work pick another color and do it again, verbalizing what those items are. For this to work for the long run you have to really look at your life, and what eating looks within your life, your family's lifestyle, and your schedule. It's not easy. I'm not sure exactly which "diet" you're following (can't see it on my phone), but if there aren't medical reasons for the one you have chosen (based upon this post I'm assuming it's not a flexible or a CICO style), perhaps take another look at others which might be more conducive to your lifestyle and your needs? I follow CICO because it allows me to be flexible because of my family's lifestyle and my own mental health/ED needs. If someone tells me I can't have something (even if it's ME that's saying it lol) then I will end up binging on that thing, so therefore nothing is "off-limits" and everything is allowed within moderation. I've tried keto and low carb before and they never worked FOR ME (**Please note the FOR ME statement and know that I am not bashing anyone's choices -I don't want to get beat up by those that it is working for**). I was able to follow them for the first month or two and then failed because they were not a good mesh with my life and needs at that point. And that failure caused a huge upsurge of my depression and anxiety. It wasn't worth it to me. These are just my experiences, and my opinions. Please, look for what will truly support you and your life the best. Just know that not every diet works for every person. I hope at least a little bit of this post helps.

I would have just eaten the toppings, I just don't deal well with flour products. It is just as good to me

It's all about limiting the amount. Nobody can expect to stop eating things you enjoy forever. It's not failure unless you give up. Don't give up, get back on that horse. It I can hang on so can you. Was there a special reason you went for pizza? Birthday? If so, that's understandable. Is your husband encouraging you or not? If not, you need talk to him & find out why. There are safe things to eat at nearly every restaurant. Don't just order what everyone else does. Ask the waiter for suggestions. I'm positive you are not the only dieter who has sat at one of those tables. My husband was in the hospital for several weeks, 80 miles away from home. I ate out a lot. Trust me, you won't always make great choices but their are some good ones. Check the restaurant's online nutritional pages so you know what they offer. It may be time consuming but trust me, you, your scale, and your ability to stay on your diet with less stress will be grateful.

I love pizza and all carbs so I would never succeed in a restrictive diet, what I do is follow cico and I prioritize protein and the rest half and half. Also known as a balance diet ☺️

Hopefully you can do a little research and find a way to eat in a balanced way, not too strict and not too loose

Rosio19: No, it's not a restrictive diet. It's not a diet. I'm trying make lifestyle changes. I'm working with a nutritionist very closely. Ok, I've had some slip ups but it's not exactly "falling off the wagon." On a normal day, I have a very balanced meal plan, focusing on getting in leafy greens and a ton of veggies and proteins. I've given up red meat completely purely because I can't process it well and I tend to get sick. I stick to chicken/turkey or plant based proteins.
