Was a busy day today: Summer Reading Kick-off at the library. I'm not a morning person, so getting up at 6:30 a.m. is tough! I made it to the library by 8:00 a.m. We had the TAME science trailer from 9-1, story time with an award winning author at 10:30, and I ran my STEM MakeyMakey demo until 1:30. Then I was scheduled to work my regular hours until 7:30. We had 125 for the science trailer, 70 for the story time, and about 50 for the Makey Makey demo. This is a small town and a small storefront library, so our numbers were phenomenal for us. I really only worked until 5:00 and had another volunteer finish out my shift. I am tired, my back aches, and am totally happy with our Kick-off!My grandson was my chief assistant for the STEM -- that is, I was his chief assistant. He is 11 and totally interested in anything dealing with nature or science. He was in his element showing kids how to use the MakeyMakey kit and the laptop to play bananas and other fruit as piano keys.
We served pizza and had soft drinks -- I resisted temptation. I ordered a salad from a restaurant nearby, and drank water. When I got home about 5:30, I ate pistachios, cheddar cheese, and drank Keto coffee, then had a later supper of scrambled egg, cheess and bacon. It amazes me that the appetite is cooperating with Keto eating. I have only lost .4 lbs, but my morning glucose reading was 158 and was the same when I came home, even though I forgot to take my lunch meds. I did better today on the carb/fat ratio: 7% carbs, 80% fat, with 13 proteins. That still is a net carb of 19.81, so I need to work on that more.
